The Steelmate SBS-1 blind spot detection system uses microwave sensors installed behind the rear bumper (one on each side) to warn the driver when a vehicle is in their blind spot.
When a vehicle is detected in the drivers blind spot the systems corresponding LED warning indicator (installed on the bottom of the windscreen pillar trims) will flash, if the driver is about to change lanes and is indicating an audible alert will sound. The system greatly reduces the possibility of a fatal accident caused while overtaking or changing lanes.
